On Sunday 19th November 2017 Kalyna Care held its 34th Annual General Meeting at its facility in Delahey.
The main reports from our Annual Report appear on this page.
At the AGM a service award was presented to Deborah D’Costa, Care Manager at Kalyna Care, in recognition of her twenty years of valuable service to the organisation. Deborah’s commitment and hard work over this time is a major part of the success of Kalyna Care. The award was presented by Andrew Matiszak, Director, former Chair and Life Member of Kalyna Care.
The Board of Kalyna Care is pleased to announce that we were successful in receiving an allocation of 40 residential care places and a $3M capital grant from the Department of Health in the last financial year. This is a significant capital injection to develop the Delahey site further.
Kalyna Care was also successful in gaining approval for refurbishment of the older parts of our building. This means we carry out the necessary work then effectively receive a rebate from the government as each phase is completed.
Our Capital Projects Committee has begun assessing and prioritising needs and embarking on the all-important financial and logistical aspects of these projects. It is anticipated the preliminary work will take at least twelve months, before any building will commence.
This next phase of development at Kalyna Care will be quite exciting and the Board looks forward to the challenge of not only sustaining our facility, but expanding our services and ensuring its viability into the future.
