COVID-19 Precautions – Cessation of visits to facility

Dear Valued Resident Representative

With the escalation of infection in the community of the COVID-19 virus, Kalyna Care will cease all visits to residents effective from midnight Friday 27 March 2020, until further notice.

Julie Speirs, Manager Care Services and myself have rung all families to personally convey this message.

We sincerely thank all families who support this decision.

Our staff commit to continue to be watchful and caring of your loved ones in your absence.

Where a special circumstance arise such as palliative care, Kalyna Care will work closely with family to ensure as much access as possible is given.

Video and voice communication are being installed in more computers as we meet increased demand. Following are forms of video conferencing.

ZOOM: Arrange a time for us to schedule a meeting with your email address.

We are organising a virtual calendar for you to book a 30-minute session to have a conversation with your loved one.

Please be patient as we are new to frequent use of video conferencing.

Forms of communication will be updates on:

  • This website
  • Our Facebook page
  • Newsletters
  • SMS

We understand that these are unsettling times and we all have not experienced any other time as now.

However, we unite with a single goal to protect the residents at Kalyna Care.

We appreciate your assistance to convey this message to all family and friends of your resident at our facility at Kalyna Care.

We thank you for your cooperation.

Please feel free to call Julie Speirs, 0411 469 900 or myself, 0406 424 618.

Thank you,
Pearl Forrester CEO
